SERVICE /ASSISTANCE VEHICLE

All the bivouacs are accessible with a 2 wheels drive vehicle. The last kilometres can be on gravel roads but without any problem for a non off road vehicle.

The vehicles can be 4x4 or a truck, van, camper……in an excellent mechanical condition to meet the challenges of the 6,500 km of the Rally.

Go for a “diesel fuel” vehicle, since “super” fuel is rare or even non-existent in Mauritania.

No specific equipment such as an additional petrol tank or roll bar is required to take part in the Heroes Legend. The vehicle has to carry  two spare wheels, shovel,sand ladders, tow strap, GPS and trip master.

All vehicles will be equipped with an E-TRACK system (follow-up by satellite), which will ensure safety and guarantee respect of the itineraries imposed by the Organisation.

Autonomy :
An autonomy of 500km is necessary whatever the terrain is (road or gravel road)
All the fuel stations will be indicated on the road book.

Documents
A valid insurance policy and the original registration documents of the vehicle must be presented at the time of the verifications and must accompany the team throughout the itinerary.
Provisional registrations will not be accepted (customs rules of the countries crossed). 

If the driver is not the owner of the vehicle, an attestation from the owner will be necessary.

The Organisation will provide to each registered vehicle a insurance certificate valid for Mauritania and Senegal
